Additional Far Cry 2 Information

Far Cry 2, the next-generation first-person shooter, will take you deep into the most beautiful but also most hostile environments in the world: Africa! More than just a visual and technological achievement, Far Cry, the true sequel to the award-winning PC game, will provide you with an unprecedented gaming experience. Caught between two rival factions in war-torn Africa, you are sent to take out "The Jackal," a mysterious character who has rekindled the conflict between the warlords, jeopardizing thousands of lives. In order to fulfil your mission you will have to play the factions against each other, identify and exploit your their weaknesses, and neutralize their superior numbers and firepower with surprise, subversion, cunning and, of course, brute force. OPEN WORLD - The extensive artistic research combined with the next-gen engine will allow you to explore over 50Km2 of seamlessly rendered African landscape. No game has ever provided such freedom of movement! DUNIA ENGINE - The Dunia Engine was built specifically for Far Cry® 2 by the award-winning Ubisoft Montréal development team. It delivers the most realistic destructible environments, amazing special effects such as dynamic fire propagation and storm effects, real-time night-and-day cycle, dynamic music system, non-scripted enemy A.I. and much more... REAL-TIME IMMERSION - Real-time story telling, systemic auto-healing, minimal in-game interface are just few of the features that will make you feel the tension of being alone against barbarous warlords that threaten thousands of innocent lives. WEAPONS OF CHOICE - Choose from a wide range of weapons to make your way to your primary target. Meet the fight head-on with your machine-gun, go berserk with your machete or make stealth kills as a Sniper. If you feel that the atmosphere is not warm enough, light up your flamethrower and let your enemies and everything around them feel the heat.

What Customers Say About Far Cry 2:

Quite apart from the movie scenes that you can't click through, the dreadful weaponry (the degrade feature is a nice touch, granted, but it's not suited to a shoot-em-up like this - maybe in something like Call of Duty it would better), the cloning of the opposition (in the guardposts. But this game is. Dead wrong. I'd just completed Crysis and Warhead, couldn't get the original FarCry, but figured that FarCry2 would be just as good, right. If you liked FarCry go and buy Crysis - it will blow you away. I'm running a 3.2ghz dual-processor, nothing should be slow on it.

If you have a lot of saved games it takes forever to bring up the list - faster to kill yourself and then Load Last Save.

Oh please), and the oddball effects (if you firebomb a wooden hut with a briefcase in it, the hut burns to the ground but the briefcase remains unscathed.

After the 5th mission or so the only reason to play it is to complete it, you couldn't give a damn about the player, the Jackal, or anything else.

Wrong.

As far as empathy with characters goes, there isn't any.

Wow).

the Load feature of this game frankly stunk.

There's some nice features in this game but it's not worth playing for these.

In a more enlightened age, Ubisoft's butchering of Crytek's franchise would have been grounds for hanging, drawing, and quartering Ubisoft's executives and display their heads on spikes at the city gates as a warning to others.

Excellent game, played full specs on my M-a478 got it on 360 also ,but i like the computer verzion better(easier to controll in multiplayer)

Pluses:-Realistic weapons (overall).-Weapon & equipment upgrades.-Huge maps.-Nice visuals: fire, weather (rain, wind, fog), day/night cycles, and explosions.-Replay value (some random mission assignments & use different tactics)-Overall stable game.-Sniper rifle can shoot through multiple targets if you line them up.-Plant explosives and remotely detonate them.-Complex, but easy learning curve.-Great tutorial at beginning of game.-Weapons will go bad with use -- replace them often.Minuses:-Low morality since many of the missions are about killing for stupid reasons -- like doing a mission to get your buddy some high-strength coffee.-The buses ruin the game play. You can travel all over the district without game loading messages, except if you use a bus. I don't use the buses for this reason.-Can get permanently stuck at places along the boundary edges (around mountains). -Graphic settings may need to be tweaked -- were fine for one of my machines, but had to be tweaked for another.-The accuracy rating does not account for incidental targets, for example, the rating will go up by directly shooting a target, but your accuracy rating will go down if you shoot an explosive barrow to take out 5 targets.-No hurt-able civilians -- for realism, there should be hurt-able civilians, and penalties if you hurt them.-Gun turrets have unlimited ammo -- I like realism, thus ammo limits.

This game is not too bad, The graphic is good but the story line is confusing the player and the most have to find out what's going on about the story and events.

And usually, there is a weapons shop nearby (in case you want to change your weapons or ammo).I think 99% of negative reviewers FAILED TO UNDERSTAND this concept. to imply it was a LONG bus journey. Try turning "shadows" down. Take the time to experiment w/ the display. Time of day has changed (dusk, midnite, early dawn, etc). (Enemy dialogue can be hilarious and suspenseful).- Very smart AI.the more you play, the more you will appreciate it.

Choose "realistic" setting, and play w/ your on-screen crosshairs turned off. Even when driving, try to stay off-road as much as possible to avoid confrontations.3. Moving/morphing shadows are PC-intensive. There is always a vehicle waiting for you outside. It seems MOST of the negative reviews fail to understand the PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION system in the game. (some of the best scenarios are after taking out a target and trying to make it home while low on ammo.- Stunningly beautiful, at max settings.- NO ALIENS OR MUTANTS. Take the bus.2. Turn shadows down, and max everything else.6.

You are getting a much poorer quality experience.6. Given the many bad reviews, I was very hesitant to buy.The reviewers could not have been more wrong. Dead center is your home base. Eventually you'll find another vehicle.4.

Limit yourself to missions from the 2 rival factions -- this will progress the game story as intended. If you insist on driving instead of taking the bus -- YES the game seems slow, frustrating, and impossible. The game developers should have made this point clearer (it is not explained in the game manual). (If you don't take the bus, YES it will be slow/frustrating to cross the map). Failure to utilize the "BUS" concept will result in frustrating, repetitive experience.- Endless choice of side missions will fail to advance the storyline and can seem pointless.- Fans of pure run/gun shooters will be frustrated by the need to for strategy, planning, and stealth.OVERALL: Great game.

There are enemy outposts and armed checkpoints along the roads, which are also patrolled by armed jeeps. There are BUS STOPS clearly marked on the map -- one at the four corners of the map, and one in dead center. If you don't play maxed-out, you are not just missing out on eye-candy. As mentioned in most reviews, the map is huge and you have to travel all over to complete missions. Much harder.7. But if you play the game as intended, WOW.it is a great experience.Tips:1.

In terms of single-player, non-linear, non-team based combat, voice-acting, intelligent AI, game length, replay value, and game environment, this game might sit alone at the top. Great voice-acting. It is an AWESOME game.A classic example of a great game which was misunderstood by most gamers. Avoid random side missions, these get repetitive and don't advance the story line.PROS:- Great single-player experience.- Totally unscripted, non-linear gameplay. 8. I play 800x600, maxed out.

It's too bad most people didn't figure it out and gave such BAD reviews. Chose a lower resolution if necessary. The four corners are where most missions will occur.So.after accepting a mission, go to the bus stop, board the bus for your destination, and in an instant you are transported to that corner of the map. :)CONS:- Lack of direction from developers. Don't be afraid to abandon your vehicle and go on foot. May take a long time depending on your PC/graphics card, but is worth it.5.

(AI can be down, wounded, bleeding, but still try to squeeze off a few rounds as he's dying).- Huge map, amazing environment, changing weather conditions/time-of-day.- Great in-game tension and stealth gameplay. Buy it and try it.
